Cell Wall Part (1)

CELL WALL       ( PART- 1)

               BACKGROUND :-

Everything in the world has a boundary line like every Home, village, City, and country. This boundary line have a specific function it maintain the shape of country etc present in map. It also a protecting line as enemies cannot inter through it and the and the entire area are safe due
to this line.
Such like that the cell is also covered by a boundary
line.

Cell Wall

DEFINITION:-
The outer most layer of plant cell is called CELL WALL.
  • Animals cell have no cell wall.
  • Cell wall is actually non living.

CELL WALL STRUCTURE

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:-
Chemically cell composed of Carbohydrates such as Cellulose, hemi-cellulose, pectin, lignin and certain fatty substances like waxes.

MICROFIBRILS :-
It is found in cell wall , actually it is a network lying in a gel-like matrix. It is mostly composed of cellulose.

TYPES
There are three types of cell wall and that is :

(1). MIDDLE LAMELLA :-
                                                 A pectin rich cementing substance
between the walls of adjacent cells called Middle lamella.

(2). PRIMARY CELL WALL :-
The cell wall which is formed immediately after the division of cell called primary cell wall. Many kinds of plant cells have only primary cell wall around them.
  Composition:-
It is composed of pectin, hemi-cellulose and loose network of cellulose microfibrils.

(3). SECONDARY CELL WALL :-
It is a layer present inner surface of the primary cell wall called secondary cell wall.
This type of cell wall present in phloem and xylem.
Composition:-
It is composed of cellulose, hemi-cellulose and lignin.
THREE TYPES STRUCTURE OF CELL WALL

FUNCTION

  •  It give protection to the cell.
  • It give mechanical support to the cell.
  • It maintain shape of the cell.
  • It also prevent cell from desiccation.
